Tara Skillicorn MCSP SRP

Tara SkilicornTara trained at Salford Univeristy and graduated in 1998. Her first post was at South Manchester hospitals university trust consolidating basic skills in the large teaching trust. During her time here she worked within stroke rehabilitation, orthopaedics, intensive care and general medicine. Staying at Wythenshawe hospital she then moved into a senior role specialising in burns and plastics, where many patients had upper limb injuries. This paved the way for Tara to explore and further specialize in upper limb conditions so she moved on to work at Wrightington hospital upper limb department.

Having to move around the country for her husband’s occupation, Tara, moved into working with musculoskeletal conditions in a variety of settings within the NHS and private clinics and hospitals. For the past 6 years Tara lived and worked in north Lancashire where she worked as a clinical specialist managing a caseload of complex and chronic conditions within the musculoskeletal specialty, provided mentorship and teaching to fellow colleagues and continued to advance skills in treating upper limb conditions. She also supported her team in many service developments within the NHS and implemented numerous clinical pathways based on current evidence and best practice. During this time Tara also qualified as a Body Control Pilates teacher after spending many months in London and the North West completing an extensive training programme and assessment schedule.

Tara has finally settled in Shropshire and has 2 young boys and a husbnad who has a permanent job here as a hospital consultant.
