Samantha Townsend MCSP
Sam qualified from Southampton University in 1996 becoming a state registered and chartered physiotherapist. She then spent 18 months at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital consolidating her skills in a wide variety of specialist areas.
Sam then spent time at hospitals in Dudley and Wolverhampton working at a senior level treating stroke patients and then musculoskeletal conditions specialising in rehabilitation of the lower limb.
She then travelled and worked as a physiotherapist in Australia. When she returned home she worked in a private practice in Peterborough before returning to the West Midlands to work as a clinical specialist in a community rehabilitation team in Birmingham.
Sam continues to work in both areas of physiotherapy that she has great interest in; rehabilitation of the older person, treating conditions such as stroke, osteo arthritis and falls and musculoskeletal conditions particularly neck and lower back complaints.
Sam has supported the clinic during holiday periods for a number of years but joined the team on regular basis this year.
